bye bye for now

Well, this will be my last update till next month. Tomorrow morning I will be going with Beca and Lili out to a village to live and get an idea of Thai country life. I'm excited and a lil nervous but i can't wait to tell you all about it.

The past few I met Lili and Beca, moved into my apartment and started running again. Painful. Well. Here is the smart thing. We woke up Saturday morning and went running, then I went and palyed ultimate frisbee for about three hour that afternoon, and then ran again this morning. My legs are in mutiny.

Oh well. I love my apartment. And I've been having a lot of fun being with everyone here.

On Friday after we got all moved in, we went to Baan Kanoon for fantastic Friday and hung out with a lot of the kids that come to Baan Kanoon. Well, I say kids but they are all my age or older, but most are in college.

It's been awesome. We had church this morning. But it was in Thai. I can't wait till I learn more of this language. Aight. I'm out.

here's the wind up....

Well, it's been good the past couple of days. I've gotten to experience how things kind of go here at Baan Kanoon and get more of an idea of what I will be doing. I've had a lot more down time than I expected, which kinda frustrated me at first, but I realized has given me much time to just spend with God. That had been increadably energizing and encouraging. I read through donald millers searching for God knows what, which again, like when I was reading blue like jazz, was perfect timing. A lot of the issues he talks about hit home with me and helped me put into words things I have been feeling and going through. Then I started on brennen mannings signature of Jesus, which had been beautiful so far. Again touching on things that have been rolling around in my head.

Tuesday I sat in on a class and a half here at Baan Kanoon. So I'm not quite as anxious about what I will be doing in the classes.

Then yesterday morning I went to a juvenile prison with Richard Neal and Thum. It was a new class of students, about 16 and we got started a little. We worked on countries and introductions and had a good time.

Then in the afternoon is Kanoon Club where people can come to Bann Kanoon and just hang out to work on their English, or some bring homework from school to get help on. I met a new friend named Pop, he owns a couple of shops at different markets.

Then on wednesday nights I will be working with Richard during a class. We had fun last night, and the tangents are usually more fun than the lesson.

Today the two girls from California Bible University get here, and we have a team meetingnwith everyone who works in CM (minus Rob and Jordan whom are doing culture immertion at a village til feb 5) and we will get to talk about our teams goals and plans for the next few months.

That's about it. Move into my apartment tomorrow which I am stoked about, and I may end up leasing a scooter to get around on.

Alright. Here we go!

Alrighty then. My iPhone has been updated and I have plenty of access to wireless now, so here we go!

The fam and I went down to DFW airport and checked into one of the airport hotels there where we had dinner and spent a little time together. Then they went to sleep, and I played on my phone. Then at 20 til four I caught the shuttle And headed to my gate, checked in and got on the plane. That took me to LAX where I met a couple from New Zeland who were headed to Bangcock, Tyron and Brooke. We talked for a bit, then went our separate ways on the plane. I got a lot of reading done on searching for God knows what by donald miller. It was really good. I'm looking forward to finishing it.

I also saw ghost town on the first flight, then death race, city of ember, and bottle shock ok the second. I liked all three and thuroughly recomend ghost town and bottle shock.

Got to Incheon airport, and ate dinner and hung out with Brooke and Ty til their flight left, then went and waited on mine. I was seated next to a man who was Korean, but lives in Chiang Mai as a missionary with the Church of Christ. I would have talked to him more, but I passed out as we were taxiing out to take off. Don't remember most of that flight.

But I landed and cleared customs, then went to Glen and Janets to spend the night. Did church and lunch with the SBU team, hung out with part of them at the umbrella festival and then did dinner and went with them to the airport.

Today is a lazy day to rest and get oriented. Worked on my budget and schedule a bit. Gonna move to Baan Kanoon (the community center) this afternoon and stay there til I move into my apartment on Friday.

Welp, that's a start. I'm here and things are getting going. Yay. Thank you for your prayers and support.
